Buddhist healing philosophy renders a distinct explanation for pathophysiology. In this session, Nashalla G. Nyinda, Menpa TMD, MA Acu will discuss the inseparability of nature to our intrinsic selves, and how to tailor treatments to any subsequent expressions of health or disease.

Tibetan Medical Doctor (Menpa) Masters of Acupuncture

Nashalla G. Nyinda, Menpa TMD, MA Acu, began studying Tibetan medicine in 1999. Encouraged by her root teacher, Venerable Thrangu Rinpoche, she interned at Chagpori Tibetan Medical Institute’s clinic in Darjeeling, India for two years. Nashalla’s Menpa degree (doctor of Tibetan medicine) was conferred in 2009 by Qinghai Tibetan Medical College and the Shang Shung Institute of Tibetan Medicine. She founded the Sowa Birthing Method™, a bodywork series focused on decreasing medical interventions and postpartum depression.

Her bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Naropa University focused on Asian medicines and Buddhist psychology. Nashalla went to the Institute of Taoist Education and Acupuncture for her master of acupuncture in the Classical Five-Element lineage. She has taught worldwide, as an adjunct professor at Naropa University, and throughout medical colleges in Asia, lecturing on Buddhism, meditation, and Asian healing traditions. Nashalla is director of the Nyinda Clinic of Tibetan Medicine and Holistic Healing in Boulder, Colorado, and the nonprofit Chagpori U.S., dedicated to furthering the preservation and protection of Tibetan medical and Buddhist culture.
